Large File Stores

We have a DL380 with a Smart Array 5300 with a dual channel MSA30 enclosure attached to it. The enclosure is full with 300GB drives and the server OS is Windows 2000 SP 4.

We currently have 1 volume with 1.7TB allocated to it. We want to expand that volume to include another 1.7TB to use the full capacity of all the 300GB drives.

Is this possible with our current configuration? If not where are we short?

Thanks in advance

Re: Large File Stores

My advice is don't do this. Single volumes larger than 1TB are great up until something goes wrong. I have seen too many folks with file corruption take out huge hunks of data and then wait hours and hours on chkdsk or they have to wait a very long time for a restore.

Re: Large File Stores

Unfortunately this isn't an option. Our files are large graphic based files and they eat up a lot of storage rather quickly.
