Loop Failed with Emulex FC2243
Hi all,
There are entries in my event viwer, event id 1215, status 6=Connection Failed and in HP system Management Console, it says "Loop Failed". But I can still access the mapped storage from SAN.
May I ask how to proceed with this?
Tnx much

Re: Loop Failed with Emulex FC2243
Hi,
It sounds like you have multiple paths to your storage and one of them has failed somewhere.
I'd start by checking that all the connections to the SAN are working, that you haven't got a faulty FC switch somewhere, or a controller on the SAN isn't faulty.
If you could detail your environment a little further (type of SAN etc.) that may help...
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Loop Failed with Emulex FC2243
Hi Rob,
We are in Win2kAS SP4 and using MSA1000 controller. Yes, the SAN is distributed to several servers and just one of those is showing those error msg. I already checked all the connections to the SAN and all are working fine even on the server that has the error msg.
Is ther a documentation on this somewhere? I really am very new to this.
Tnx much,
Joel

Re: Loop Failed with Emulex FC2243
hi,
You can use the mutipath software monitor to ceck the same information.
Like Secure path/ MPIO to see the failure.
Can you check the event log for indows for mode details on same error.
