Losing internet connectivity when teaming NIC cards on blades
Hey all,
Have been having a frustrating problem where if I team nics on a BL20 G2/G3 or BL35 that I lose internet connectivity. If I run a single nic, everything works but once I team I lose functionality. I am able to resolve IPs, ping to my gateway but not hit anything outside. However, I can hit the server from the outside, some servers are setup to be web servers and have no problem seeing the web site. The blade switches are factory config except for the changing of the password. I am using the interconnct modules in the rear. 1 cable plugged into each unit (left and right) that are feed into a main dummy switch with nothing special going on like vlaning. I also have non blade servers feeding to the same switch and have no problem with internet access. What is weird is we have about the same exact setup on a different subnet and teaming works great. All the same options, even the same switches. The only difference is there are no advanced enclosures and are using the previous generation enclosure switches. If anyone has any suggesstions please let me know. My one guess is maybe since I am using auto duplex on the networks, it might be causing an issue with spanning tree on the blade enclosure switches and is causing an issue when all nics are teamed.
Thanks,
Rich

Re: Losing internet connectivity when teaming NIC cards on blades
Rich,
I have seen issues like this when spanning tree protocol is enabled in the network switches. Try disabling this protocol for the ports you have teamed, see if this helps any.
