Matching Memory

I am configuring a new DL320 G5. And i purchased (2) 2G memory modules. To my surprise the server arrived with a 1G memory module already installed. I am aware of the importance that used to be placed on installing matching memory modules and i always purchase it in that manner. but in this case should i put all 5G in the server or just remove the 1G that came in the unit. Thanks for anyone's help.

It will be fine :
2 X 2 Gb
2 X 512 Mb

This way it going to be super.

Aaron,

There is a performance benefit in having a purely interleaved configuration which may mean having to remove the 1Gb dimm in slot 1.

If you don't have any major performance requirements you can leave this installed.
