Memory configuration in DL380 Gen9 with two E5-2640 v4 cpus
Hi,
I've a problem with my server.
I've DL380 Gen9 with two sockets (Xeon E5-2640 v4).
Now I'm trying to expend the memory ( 8 * 16GB = 128 >>> 192 GB) with 14 x 32 GB bars.
I've tried the configuration from HPE Server Memory Configurator | Hewlett Packard Enterprise
But not run:
Thanks very much!

Re: Memory configuration in DL380 Gen9 with two E5-2640 v4 cpus
Hi,
Its an indication that either Memory or Processor or the System Board slots are faulty.
Try these memory from socket 7,8,9 into different slots and see if problem follows memory or slots.
Also see if your server needs a firmware update.
Thank You!

Re: Memory configuration in DL380 Gen9 with two E5-2640 v4 cpus
Hi,
Yesterday I did different tests checking in other banks that the modules worked correctly.
Finally I have changed the recommended configuration, using empty ports 6 and leaving ports 8 and 9 free. In 7, the 16GB module is still connected in failure, but in this way I lose only 16 + 16GB.
The only thing that now I have unbalanced memory between CPU's.
Yesterday I applied the SPP 2019.09.0 because the last one I downloaded (2020.09.1) was not compatible with Gen9.
Thanks
