Migrate Raid 1 to Raid 5
I have a DL380 G2 with 5i controller and 2 36GB HDs Mirrored. Running Netware 6.0 SP3
I have added another 36GB drive using CPQONLIN.
After Expanding the existing Array it prompts me to create a new Logical Drive for the new 36GB drive. Do I create a new logical drive? I figured I would be adding this drive to the existing logical drive. Any suggestions?

Re: Migrate Raid 1 to Raid 5
So you have moved to Raid 5 and now you have lots of empty space on this array?
I'm not sure how it's done under netware(if it is even supported by cpqonlin), but if you grab your smartstart cd and go into the ACU, it'll be possible

Re: Migrate Raid 1 to Raid 5
Under netware you can expand the array like you have already done but you cannot extend the logical drive.
Create a new logical drive and then just add the new space to the NSS Pool that you want to use that new space. With NSS Pools you wont even know the difference :)

Re: Migrate Raid 1 to Raid 5
I was able to get the help from calling HP. Your answer is correct and thanks for the reply.
