Mirroring or imaging EISA partition on Win2K Server

We administer a Proliant ML330 running Windows 2000 Server. It has two SCSI hard drives. Both are Dynamic disks. The first drive contains a C: volume, an N: volume, and a 39 MB EISA Configuration partition. C: and N: are both mirrored to the second drive through Disk Management in Windows. It will not mirror the EISA partition, however. Is there any way to replicate it to the second drive? This is of particular concern because I believe it contains the boot sector. Windows will not boot without it, no matter how C:\BOOT.INI is configured.

Norton Ghost 2003 did not replicate the EISA partition when I used the Image Drive option. Has anyone had success with other methods?

i assume id 0 is your boot disk with the eisa partition (called systempartition by hp).

there is only one way to create a copy of the eisa partition.

break the mirror. make id 1 your only disk in the system (save id 0 with all your data !!!).
delete all partitions. use smartstart 5.50 to create another eisa partition.

reset the id to id 1.

install the original id 0 disk.

remirroe (using windows).

but still this is weird. the eisa partition in nothing but a hidden primary partition (actually running dos) and should not inferfere with windows.

ps: try this first:

remove disk 0 - make disk 1 id 0. maybe it is a bios setting.

usually you do not need the eisa partition - you can start all tools from smartstart 5.50.

just crossed my mind - in boot.ini your partition is set to 1 (as eisa partition is 0). on your second drive partition 1 is your N: drive !! you cannot boot from there.
