Re: ML 370 G2 - add hard drive
If your server don't have this you can't do in online this; only shutdown the sever and reboot with the Smart Start for your server.
Please confirm if you have the service pack 3 and Proliant Support Pack (PSP).

Re: ML 370 G2 - add hard drive
If your RAID controller supports online capacity addition, then you can do it online, by putting new hard disk to the array & initiate capacity addition & you will get the free sapce as unassigned space on disk management . You can create this as a new logical volume.
But remember that if you are adding a higher capacity disk to an consist of lower capacity disks, you will get the lower capacity only (eg: If you are putting a 72GB hdd on an array of 18GB, you only get 18GB added space & balance space on your 72Gb will be waste.)
In that case you can go for a single disk with RAID0 or put 2 new disks of same capacity & do mirroring.
Please go through the following threads for more details.

Re: ML 370 G2 - add hard drive
For do this, first run de Array Configuration Utility and then Expand the Array where you like install the new disk, and select the new disk, then expand the size of the Logic Unit....
After this wait the reconstruccion of RAID and ready....
Go the Disk Manager in Windows and select the disk and put like Dinamic Disk and then expand the size of disk...
P.D.: My english in not good

Re: ML 370 G2 - add hard drive
But if the procedure was incorrect the disc had not been added to the array.....
Try this open the ACU and then click in rescan and then click in the array and click in More Information.....in some times the page not update although the process already has finalized.....
Chris....
