ML 370 with 642 controller slow with network performance
Ik have an ML 370 with an 642 SCSI controller. 2 harddisks 36 Gb RAID 1, 4 Harddisk 72 Gb RAID5. When writing and reading to the Raid 5 set it is very slow. It is reading and writing 1 file at a time (you can see all the files pass by). On my DL 380 with the same configuration except the scsi controller i have no problems at all! I also notice that with backuppen the files it does about 380 Mb/min. The other server over the network does about 1200 Mb/min. I use an LTO tapedrive which is connected to the onboard scsi controller. All the applications are also very slow. First I thought it was the virusscanner (Mcafee 7.1), but when disabling it it didn's help. Has anyone has an clue?
