ML110 G3 mirrored drive issue
Hi all,
I've recently started looking after a client who has an ML110G3 with 2 x 80gb SATA drives in a software mirror.
Both drives are reporting bad sectors. I have had one replaced, and the call has been logged to replace the 2nd one.
My problem is that I want to re-create the mirror from the drive with data (original with bad sectors) to the new drive (replacement with no bad sectors), so I can remove the 2nd drive (faulty one), and replace it with a good drive, and not lose data in the process.
MS SBS 2003 will not create a mirror from a drive with errors, so I am unable to create a mirror. :(
Any hints would be gratefully appreciated!
Clinton

Re: ML110 G3 mirrored drive issue
Hi Clinton,
I think you can use the new one HD like target disk of a "cloning procedure" via software;
after of cloning, you can check data on your "new" HD and choose if you can use this like "starting HD" for the new RAID 1.
Let me know if my answer it's enough.
Bye.
