ML110 G5 Fan Noisy Running Full Speed
Hi
I have solved this problem thanks to a very helpful Mr Vijay V Ghatkey, a HP Technical Solutions Consultant. I share here the solution with others.
The problem - the fans in the server were VERY noisy. They were running at full speed constantly, rather than decreasing speed 20 seconds after boot when the operating system loads.
The solution - from the HP 'Download drivers and software' webpage, update to the latest version, both:
1) 'Firmware - Management' - 'Firmware Upgrade', and
2) 'BIOS - System ROM' - using either of the two methods (USB Key, or Online ROM Flash).
That solved the problem for me. The server is quiet now :-)
