ML110 G6 Fan Failure

I have an HP ML110 G6 that just reset. The event viewer indicates that Fan 2 had been removed. Checking the history this has been going on for several months. Exact error is:

System Information Agent: Health: Fan Removed.  A hot-plug fan has been removed from the system.
 Chassis: '0'; Fan: '2'
[SNMP TRAP: 6039 in CPQHLTH.MIB

How do I know which fan is FAN 2

Re: ML110 G6 Fan Failure

Hi,

ProLiant ML110 G6 server has only two fans.

REARFAN1 = System fan = 576930-001
CPUFAN1 = Heat sink = 576927-001

Do refer the HP ProLiant ML110 G6 Server Maintenance and Service Guide.

Page# 20-21 for parts, 106-107 for fan connectors and 110 for fault led.

Also if you see the Firmware Upgrade for HP ProLiant G6/G7 Lights-Out 100 Remote Management, it has some fixes related to fan false failure message.

If a real fan failure has occurred, do replace by looking at the fault led.

You may also update the LO100 firmware to see if it fixes the issue.

Thank You!
