ML150 G5 HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller driver
Also an upgrade from W2K3 64bits fails with a blue screen after the first reboot.

Re: ML150 G5 HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller driver
you in fact are using the correct driver
check this the second answer
http://forums.technet.microsoft.com/en/winserversetup/thread/3c19d0a6-52d9-439d-9398-9aa9f6da6e0c/
insert the USB key when is needed and remove when the controller takes the driver

Re: ML150 G5 HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller driver
check your boot order and set the USB key as last option, after HDD, CDROM/DVD

Re: ML150 G5 HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller driver
Your reference here is for the Smart Array. There are drivers for the Smart Array but not for the Embedded SATA Raid Controller on the ML150G5.

Re: ML150 G5 HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller driver
This is what an official representitive from HP explained to me.
If you make a support call they probably will sent you the driver before the official release. I am waiting for that.
All options mentioned before do not work. Installing is succesfull but with the first reboot W2K* stops with a blue screen.
Thanks for your responces.

Re: ML150 G5 HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller driver
my scenario
ML150 G5 - W2008 X64 - file cp008698.exe(for W2008 x64)
Embedded SATA controller - 2 HDDs - RAID 1
I got it working the driver is the correct one
but I also had this message "Windows could not determine if this computer contains a valid system volume"
so let me tell you how to avoid it and install W2008 x32 or X64 just fine.
Working scenario.
1. Configure RAID.
2. Insert W2008 DVD
3. DVD loaded continue GUI installation.
4. I inserted USB when was needed to load Driver
5. I loaded (driver is within a folder call amd64)
6. Continue my W2008 recognize RAID 1, continue, installing copying... GOOD :-)
not this is the way you can get the error above.
I noticed If I left my USB flash drive connected when server loaded you know HP Screen, recognize HDDs, USB MASS STORAGE is recognized too (the culprit here)
continue W2008 installation I got the error
"Windows could not determine if this comput..."
conclusion when the server recognized the USB during POST W2008 got confused and try to continue OS installation and it can not continue and you got that message.
so conclusion insert the USB KEY (USB flash drive) when windows GUI starts
also the driver WORKS!!!!

Re: ML150 G5 HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller driver
In the device list there are still to devices not properly installed; SM Bus Controller and an Unknown device. Any idea which drivers are needed or do we still have to wait fir that as well?

Re: ML150 G5 HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller driver
Karlo, do you load the SM Bus controller driver or does this still have a yellow exclamation mark in the device manager.
I will try a fresh installation today.
