ML150 G6 - 601 BMC Not Responding

Hi guys,

I've been struggling with this issue for a few days, with little to no knowledge of servers and their terminology.

 

I have an old proliant running as a server for a simple proyect, and i desided to add more ram, a second xeon, remove de raid controller, (cos it was unstable), added a few SSDs and HDDs directly to de motherboard.

Fans wise, i just had 2 that came with the server, an exhaust fan, and one enclosed with a blue "thing" blowing air next to the hdd bay, and a jumper placed in one of two cpu fan connectors. the other cpu fan connector was untouched, (cos i just had 1 xeon)

After i added all aditional hardware, i turned on and, i had a screen that i never seen before,

"Flashing BMC SDR/config please wait"

"BMC fan curve updating - done"

"system fan1 and 2 detect faileded"

"Fan or ambient sensor detected failed and prepare to shutdown"

and then the bautiful error 601

tryed to flash bmc firmware with no success, so, is there a way that someone upload the most stable bmc firmware there so i can try them ?

Hi there, i've read what you shared, but i think it does not apply to this issue, there is no issue with, hard drives,all of them work fine, and it boot to windows no problem.

The issue is with the BMC Manager

Hi,

This issue should be fixed after updating the Lights-Out 100 Remote Management and system ROM.

great al give it a try, i could doanload the first link, but the second one says it need some valitation or something, wich i dont have, could you upload it somewhere ?

in which order should i update is ?

Hi,

You can update Lights Out firmware first, that should fix the issue.
The other BIOS firmware is downloadable if the server is in warranty or contract.
Certain softwares are not free, the product must have a warranty or contract to download them.

hello mate, no, it didnt. i update it as you said with no luck. bmc does not respons to any changes.

Hi,

May be you could try "BMC Recovery jumper" or "BMC Reset password jumper".

Refer to this guide on page# 97 to 99.
