ML330 IDE HDD Boot Problem

We recently purchased a ML330 Xeon 2.8 based system. We are trying to boot the system with a normal 40GB HDD, but the system is not identifying this hdd.

Please help/suggest what can be done?

Re: ML330 IDE HDD Boot Problem

Ahamed: I assume from the Xeon 2.8 you have an ML330G3.

If you have a SCSI based machine which also has CDROm attached by IDE then my understanding is the IDE disks aren't supported.

See attached HP Quickspecs document, also available @
