ML350 + Adaptec AHA2940 SCSI controller
My ML350 runs a raid array on the original card. I have a new tape drive to go in, that needs an HBA of its own. Has anyone else done this? Success? failure?
I have put an AHA2940 card in for now but it sticks detecting the scsi id of the drive and will not proceed. if nothing is connected to the card it boots up fine. It looks like its trying to boot from the tape drive, any ideas how I stop this, or is it time for a newer controller? Thanks.

Re: ML350 + Adaptec AHA2940 SCSI controller
You might need to set the controller. As it comes up hit control A and you can get in it's bios.
If you are unsure of this you can get the documetation from adaptecs website.
I used to use a 2940UW in a 3000R for interfacing a Plextor external burner.
Good Luck.

Re: ML350 + Adaptec AHA2940 SCSI controller
Coincidence, I got it sorted today! I checked the original car dwas set as boot device, which it was, then had to disable boot scanning on the Adaptec card, it then started to boot correctly. However the card doesn't seem to like my Ultrium drive, so I'll try it with a 29160 and see how that gets on.
Thanks
