ML350 drive swap.
I have an ML350 G5 with a P400 controller and 6 SATA drives installed. I need to swap those drives out with 3 SAS drives. My plan is to take the system down, image the partitions, remove the drives (noting which slots they're in) put the new drives in, then repartition and load the images. My question is, for DR purposes, if I have to put the original drives back, and the array configuration has changed because the new drives were installed, am I able to get the original configuration back off of the SATA drives?

Re: ML350 drive swap.
The information on the 6 SATA drives is enough to load the RAID configuration and all data. You just insert them back and the Smartarray will load information from those disks on boot. The smartarrays do not keep RAID information internally.
