I have an odd one here...
I just put a ML350 G5 with dual PSU in for a customer. After a few days one of the PSU fans started overworking and was making a lot of noise... I unplugged it and plugged it backin and it was fine... 3-4 days later it started again.., I did the same again, and it all went quiet.. A few days later the PSU packed up totally, so we got it replaced and have never had any more problems...
I now have a second ML350 G5 and it's doing the same... We have replaced one of the PSU's, as it was making such a noise..., we are now going to have to replace the second one...
My question is, is there a setting in BIOS or anywhere else that sets a threshold of some kind on when the PSU's will start overworking to try a cool the server down...?
Both of the servers have been in aircon open plan offices..., and both are brand new... Could this be some kind of fault with the PSU's..?

SolutionYes, there seems to be a known issue with some PSUs in these servers.
Please see the Customer Advisory attached.
I would log the fault with HP support under warranty, and mention the Document ID on the advisory.
They should send you out another PSU without issue.
Thanks
