ML350 G9 unexpected restart and startup errors for some hours

Hello

He have an ML350 G9 which had an unexpected restart this monday

We had these two errors only on the iml log

PCI Bus Error (Slot 0, Bus 0, Device 2, Function 2)
Option ROM POST Error: 1719-Slot 0 Drive Array - A controller failure event occurred prior to this power-up.
Previous lock up code = 0x12)
Action: Install the latest controller firmware. If the problem persists, replace the controller.

We made all the necessary diagnostics , server has an annoying noise for about two hours (probably from fans) , We didn't found problems but for about 1 hour every time we tried to close it and to open it again from the front button, server was freezing at the pci initiliazation check at the beginning (START) and never completed the task . So every time made a restart. This happend about 3-4 times.

And some problems appeared for array contoller but dissapear since last monday...

I changed the motherboard main battery 3.3V and seems that the problem solved from that time but the old battery was fine (about 3.2V)

We have no errors till this day , no freezes , but i noticed that the server cannot give image to the monitor . I Changed monitor and vga cable but still the same. So i have control only with remote desktop

No errors at all , no hardware diagnostics errrors, temperatures are fine, disks are fine

Re: ML350 G9 unexpected restart and startup errors for some hours

Hello,

Replacing the system board battery resets the system ROM to its default configuration. This could explain some issues were resolved.

However, it is suggested that the server's BIOS and iLO firmware be updated and check if they re-occur.

You may download the server's BIOS by clicking here and the iLO's firmware by clicking here. Update the iLO's firmware first, restart the server to effect the update and then update the server's BIOS and restart the server for it to take effect as well.

Regards,
