ML350G4 -> "error! adapter malfunctioning" during boot
I've configured a few ML350G4's. Two of those at one time displayed the message "error adapter malfunctioning" just before initializing the LSI SCSI controller. I've rebooted the servers several times, but the message didn't reappear.
The system BIOS version of the servers is 06/01/2005. One of the fixes in this BIOS concerns an update of the LSI option ROM. My guess is that this is somehow the cause of the error message.
Can anyone confirm this?
I've never seen this message with the previous system BIOS versions.

I am seeing this error as well. I can't seem to find the problem cause. Any suggestions? Anyone?

Re: ML350G4 -> "error! adapter malfunctioning" during boot
Hi,
The error comes up if you disable one of the channels on the adapter.
you need to enable both the channels.
Even after that the error might still come up but if does you can safely ignore the message.
I think there is an article for the same on HP website.

Re: ML350G4 -> "error! adapter malfunctioning" during boot
Both channels are already enabled (by default). The article you're referring to concerns an older issue with ML350 and ML370 G3 servers.
By the way, I recently got the same error on a ML570G3 server, also with the latest BIOS installed.
