ML370 and Plextor 12/10/32s CDRW

ML370 and Plextor 12/10/32s CDRW

We purchased a Plextor 12/10/32s that we intended to use for imaging hard drives to CDs using Ghost or CDRESQ. We have attached the Plextor to the external scsi port of our Compaq ML370 Proliant server.

During "post" boot up, the Compaq Proliant recognizes & reports the
Plextor correctly on the Scsi adapter.

We prepared boot floppies according to the directions provided with
CDRESQ using Compaq's aspi compliant drivers. From DOS, we are able to read files from the Plextor.

However, neither Ghost nor CDRESQ recognize the Plextor as an available destination drive for writing images.

So far, we have tried just about every combination of scsi drivers
(including none) on the DOS boot and nothing seems to work.

Also, Windows 2000 recognizes the Plextor correctly. It's the DOS
versions of Ghost and cdresq that fail.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. We are pulling out our
hair over this problem. Do you know of anyone that has used the Plextor successfully with cdresq on a Compaq Proliant ?

Re: ML370 and Plextor 12/10/32s CDRW

I think we?ve the same problem, just with a DLT drive. The firmware flash utility doesn?t recognize the drive under dos. We loaded the cpq-aspi-driver for an ML370: FW2ASPI.SYS.
Any help is welcome.
