ML370 G3 Smart Raid 64x question
Hi
The Smart Raid 64X controller has just died in our ML370 G3 :-(
I've reseated it and tried it in another PCI-X slot but it doesn't appear in the PCI device listing of the RBSU anymore.
A new controller is winging it's way to me as we speak but I've a few questions:
Where is the array configuration stored?
On the controller or on the disks or bothe (like the old 3si's i hope)?
So, when I replace the controller will the array config be read from the disks permitting a quick clean recovery or will the arrays have to be reconfigured and the system & data restored from backups?
Can anyone point me to a manual for the Smart Array 64x contoller, I've trawled endlessley with no result!
Thanks
Roy

Re: ML370 G3 Smart Raid 64x question
Hi Roy,
the configuration is stored on the disks. So it shouldn't be too much hassle to get at your data again.
Also, I couldn't find the user guide on HP's site, but I have a copy here, and attached it.
Regards,
Stephen
