ml370 won't work with kvm?

brand new ml370 and 'aged' CompuCable kvm-801pr (8port units...2 daisy chained together)...I have 14 ports used with no problems on various Compaq servers including ml350 and ml530. But this ml370 will absolutely not recognize a keyboard/mouse using the kvm.

I've positively identified the combination problem as a kvm/ml370 incompatability. Has anyone experienced this before? Any known cheap rememdy?
