ML530 & Redhat ES 2.1

Hi,
We've got a ML530 w/SA6400. I can't seem to get RH to "see" any disks. I've got the cpq_cciss-2.4.48-3.rh21.i386.dd and in "expert" mode it loads, but once at the "partitioning" screen it stops with something close to " no vaild disks to use..." (any option does this, fdisk, druid, auto).

I've erased NVRAM, et al. I've disabled the on-board SCSI devices.

I'm stuck, it seems like the HW isn't showing to the OS.

Thanks for any tips,

Hi,

Have you seen this page yet? It has some very nice bits of information on it, your problem might be listed here:

Yeah, was there. And anything relevant assumes you have RH installed. I have no other disks, besides the SA6400 to install to.

Re: ML530 & Redhat ES 2.1

Are you using the intial release of RHEL 2.1 ES? If so, you have to install with the following dd:

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/17784.html

The cpq_cciss-2.4.48-3.rh21.i386.dd driver disk only supports QU2 media and above.
