MR controller - Volume management
Hello everyone,
I am a technician who has always configured [ML / DL] Gen8 / 9 / Gen10 servers with SR controllers and I have never had any problems.
Today I configured a new Gen11 server with the new MR controller, I ran into a problem that apparently cannot be solved in the controller guide.
I ask for confirmation.
If I configure a volume I can increase or decrease its space, otherwise if I create 2 volumes in the RAID, these volumes once created cannot be modified, even if there is additional space,.
Is it true or am I the only one who can't find the command? (tried both on GUI and via storcli but nothing I can't increase the space of a volume inside a RAID with 2 volumes).

Re: MR controller - Volume management
yes but the conditions reported are satisfied.
On the HPE MR408i-o Gen11 controller I can swear that if there are two volumes expansion is not possible, and I am using a RAID5.
If I delete the second volume then I can expand the first, this thing seems absurd!

Re: MR controller - Volume management
Hello @ghost_ale ,
I have also spent many years with the SR Raid controller and love him too.
As far as I know, your problem is also one of the limitations of the MR controller, which we don't know about with the SR.
If you look in the MR User Guide above under "Expand Array", it says:
This feature is supported when there is a single logical drive configured in the array.
The small print makes the difference.
Cali

Re: Query: MR controller - Volume management
Apparently it's just as colleague Cali says.

Will there ever be an update to allow volume expansion if there are 2 or more?
