Hello HPE,
Recently I've updated the iLo firmware from v2.55 to 2.82 for some customers, and an issue caught my attention. Out of 20 servers, 8 started to present the iLo Degraded Status with the message: Controller firmware revision 2.10.00 Embedded media initialization failed due to media write-verify test failure. Other two poped-up the: Controller firmware revision 2.10.00 Partition Table Read Error: Could not partition embedded media device and the Controller firmware revision 2.10.00 NAND read failure.
Six of them are installed in the same enclosure. All the 8 servers are Gen8. Is the Gen8 correlated to this issue?
I haven't noticed this happening for Gen9. I've updated another 44 servers Gen8 and Gen9 in the same way without any issues. So, I'd like to ask you if it's a known issue on Gen8 or what is the common causes that can trigger this issue.
For all the SRVs that presented this error, the NAND reset didn't work we had to replace the system board to recover the health of the iLO.
