Need HELP to identify my motherboard

Hello!

got myself a mobo with hp/compaq  p/n 216109-001; came from an old Proliant (350 G2 , i guess) and i need to find the right Feature Board for it, but what FB will fit?!  I tried FB from Proliant ML350 G1 with no luck, and i can't find this p/n in ML350 G2 manual either..  how can i figure out what feature board do i need for it?

TIA

The corresponding server feature board for the 216109-001 system board would be spares part number 216110-001. However, from what I can tell, those are ML350 G1 parts, not G2. That is, according to the "ProLiant ML350 Generation 2 Server Maintenance and Service Guide", the system board and server feature board have completely different spares part numbers (see: p.13, "Table 1-2: System Components Spare Parts List").

Re: Need HELP to identify my motherboard

"part number 216110-001. However, from what I can tell, those are ML350 G1 " -  thats strange, coz in my ML350 G1 is FB with pn 163355-001...

Second strange thing: in this manual (page 13) i can see 249933-001 as Feature Board, but on my 216109-001 mobo there is no such connector at all!!

The problem remains as a mystery....)

If your system board is a 216109-001, then I'm pretty sure it is from an ML350 G1, not a G2. Also, the older 163355-001 server feature board pairs with the older 163357-001 system board and is not compatible with the newer 216109-001 system board that you have. The older 163357-001 system board uses the "Slot 1" (SECC) CPU sockets (my favorite) for earlier versions of the Pentium III CPUs, whereas your newer 216109-001 system board should have FC-PGA CPU sockets. I believe both of these system board types were used in the ML350 G1, because at the time, Intel was rolling out different Pentium III models at a brisk pace and the switch from SECC to FC-PGA required a system board change (which also affected the server feature board).

You should ignore the ML350 G2 document in your case, because I believe you have G1 hardware, not G2. I just included the link so that you could see that the Spares Part Numbers were different from what you currently have. Hope this makes sense...
