See manual for Internal Components and settings, you need to Clear NVRAM, bring System to minimum Configuration, remove any Optional devices, verify Jumpers, mess can be anywhere so a few steps has to be done

Does the server attempt to read the CD? Do you have another CDROM to try temporarily in the server? Or any other bootable CD to try - maybe Windows 2K or XP - just to see if the CDROM is fuctioning.
What version of Smart Start are you using?

I have a similar issue, I downloaded the floppy and it did allow me to configure my system for the Linux install I want however it removed the partitions on the HDDs and now I can't access the CDROM to install it again. It won't boot to the CD.
