Net Wifi
Hi,
I work with a Proliant ML350 and my boss has thought to install a wifi net in the office. I'd like to know what kind of adapter or component we need to buy... and install in the server.
Thnak you very much

Re: Net Wifi
Some of this would be determined by the OS you are running, as some wireless cards don't have the best support under linux. You'd probably want to get a 108Mbps card, which I believe is currently still the fastest, though your wireless access point would also have to support 108Mbps to achieve full speed, but bear in mind that distance from the WAP, obstructions or other electromagnetic interference can affect speed and connectivity.
If you're planning on encrypting the wifi network with WPA and your ML350 is running Windows 2000 Server/Advanced Server, you will not be able to use a wireless card with WPA encryption without a 3rd-party client such as Odyssey. If you've got Windows 2003, you should be okay regarding WPA encryption support.
Odyssey, formerly owned by Funk Software but recently acquired by Juniper can be obtained (30 day trial) from http://www.juniper.net/customers/support/products/oac.jsp
HP has a version of Odyssey (though officially for certain notebooks) at http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/evonotebook/us/download/17817.html
There may be other or more suitable clients, of course.
Just my two cents.
