Network Connection
We are in the process moving our server to Windows 2000, and have come into difficulties with the network connection. After installing Windows 2000 the Network Connection which is enabled to be displayed in the System Tray, connects and reconnects randomly. Microsoft has a knowledge base document (not referencing this model) that describes this situation and recommends installing Service Pack 1. Unfortunately the server is to house Site Server 3.0 and the instructions recommend against installing Service Pack 1, when the server is running Site Server 3.0. Are there any network connection issues running Windows 2000 on the Proliant 1600?? Are there any recommended updates, other then Win2K Service Pack 1, that should be installed?? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Re: Network Connection
Make sure you are using current NIC drivers...
Fast Ethernet drivers
I'm not positive which NIC you are using now, so double-check that first. (TI chipset would be the "Netelligent 10/100" - Intel chipset would be one of the "NC" series enet cards).

Re: Network Connection
Thanks for the response. The Windows 2000 re-install with Site Server 3.0 went successully without any untimely disconnection indications. Because Windows 2000 implements a media sensing functionality with thought that maybe the problem lay within that, but as stupid as this may seem, it might have been that the network cable was loose in the back!!! Not one of my brightest days, but sometimes seemingly complex problems, require simple solutions, anyways, thanks for the response.
