Networking Issues on ProLiant DL380G6
I have a ProLiant DL380G6 with 4 NICs installed plus an iLO card. 3 out of my 4 NICs are connected and my iLO card is connected. After replacing a hard drive in my server, I can no longer access iLO, and I can't access the internet or ping my default gateway from my OS.
During my OS boot I get errors that say:
[Firmware Bug]: the BIOS has corrupted hw-PMU resources (MSR 38d is 330)
ERST: Failed to get Error Log Address Range.
power_meter ACPI000D:00: Ignoring unsafe software power cap!
bnx2 0000:02:00.1: firmware: failed to load bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.1b.fw (-2)
Things I have tried to troubleshoot:
- Activated backup system ROM
- Reset NVRAM
- Disabled iLO 2
- Flashed server BIOS
- Reinstalled OS
- Deleted and re-created logical drive

Re: Networking Issues on ProLiant DL380G6
firmware bug and ERST errors can be ignored in the boot refer the article. https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03265132
[Firmware Bug]: the BIOS has corrupted hw-PMU resources (MSR 38d is 330) ERST: Failed to get Error Log Address Range. 2. bnx2 0000:02:00.1: firmware: failed to load bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.1b.fw (-2) https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=mmr_kc-0112720
For ILO connectivity related issue Refer the below advisory HPE ProLiant DL360 G6 Server Series - "iLO 2 not responding" and "iLO 2 config is temporarily not available" Message on POST Screen https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c02854884
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02535296
as you have mentioned after replacing the HDD this issue seen to isolate this you may try disconnecting the HDD or Storage connection and check the ILO connectivity. try with any other OS like windows to isolate the nic card faulty .
