NEW HPE ProLiant DL 380 Gen 11
Hello everyone, I have a new ProLiant DL 380 Gen 11 and wanted to know how I should proceed. Should I install the new SPP version first, create the RAID array from the hard drives or install the OS (vmware)? Can you perhaps write tips and experiences? Thank you and have a nice weekend!

Re: NEW HPE ProLiant DL 380 Gen 11
Dear ToniTester
As per my suggetion, it is best practise to setup BIOS(If recomended) and ILO first, then create RAID array, then you can deploy OS as you want.
If you expriencing any defeculties during OS deployment feel free to contact US.
Thanks & Regards...

Re: NEW HPE ProLiant DL 380 Gen 11
Dear ToniTester
As per my advise, keep updated to latest firmware codes for your server always, if there is no dependecy for Application/softwares which is installed. Time to time HPE has been released SPP updated versions. check HPE support page for newer updates.
Thanks & Regards...

Re: NEW HPE ProLiant DL 380 Gen 11
Dear rabindra11sharm,
but is it best practice to update the firmware first or to install the OS first and then update the firmware?

Re: NEW HPE ProLiant DL 380 Gen 11
Dear ToniTester
You may upgrade firmware update before or after OS installation. there is no issue for it. if you want installed windows server OS then upgrade firmware after OS install the OS. mount SPP iso from OS and run it. it will update your system firmware and drivers and install HPE tools too. but fromother OS you may not able to run whole SPP, that is why I told you to run SPP first.
Thanks & Regards...
