Re: new server HP ProLiant DL160 G6

hi you best option is to contact hp sales for your local country, they are good and they will guide you fully.

selecting the correct configuration and the supported operating systems , also let them know what you want to use the server for and they will give a precise plan and extra options too.

as often people want to build and add to a server and get parts wrong,or find out it is unsuitable..

This is how we thank each other in the forum

Enjoy:)

Re: new server HP ProLiant DL160 G6

The two disk drives that you are buying are SATA 3.5" MDL drives that are ***non hot plug***. The server model looks like it is ***hot plug*** model with P410i controller. The quickspecs however say that up to 2 non-hot-plug will fit. Ask the HP reseller to verify this for you.

thanks mark1234 and TTr
I have reviewed and the parties do not coincide either the processor or hard drive, plus if you need more RAM added a second processor, hp I'm contacting my country.

Re: new server HP ProLiant DL160 G6

There is a nice online configuration tool here.

http://egui.houston.hp.com/eGlue/eco/begin.do

Click on the "Configure" link under the "Proliant Servers" area. It is not perfect but it gives you a nice configuration and many times it catches problems with parts that don't match.
