NIC Card Driver Installation

In trying to setup the NIC, NT doesn't see the OEMSETUP file, even though it is there -- whether on diskette, CD, or the hard drive, it returns the msg indicating that the file isn't there.

I've pulled the files off the SmartStart 4.9 CD, and from compaq.com ...

Re: NIC Card Driver Installation

What model of NIC is installed into the system? If you have a Compaq network controller, you need to install the latest network controller driver from the Compaq NT 4.0 SSD. You can download the SSD from this web address.

Re: NIC Card Driver Installation

Well, it turns out that the netflex3 card is the active card, and that the inability to connect to anything stems from subnet limitations in the building here (I'm still new to this organization and this was a fool-me-once blond moment!) ... I'm still unsure why the message stated that the oemsetup file didn't exist, when in fact the oemsetup file was for the wrong NIC ... usually the msg indicates that the oemsetup doesn't contain the right info ... in any case, it's working now ... thanks for your response, Robert.
