NIC card NC360T compatibility issue on HP DL380G7 server with RHEL6.1

I have a HP DL380G7 server. I have installed RHEL6.1 x86_64 on it. It includes a NIC card- HP NC360T PCIe Dual Port Gigabit Server Adapter (Intel). I have updated the NIC with the latest driver from HPs site.
My problem is when I connect this NIC on my host server with my iSCSI storage directly, it does not ping that paticular port on iSCSI storage. However, when I connect the same NIC with an indirect connection(i.e. through a LAN switch) to the iSCSI storage, that port on storage does ping. Now my question is why does my direct connection does not ping?
Is this some sort of bug?
P.S. I have downloaded the driver for HP NC360T from
