No signal on VGA port after iLO 5 configuration [HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10]
Hi,
I've got one HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 server running on Windows 2016 on site.
Prevoiusly to access desktop I was using monitor attached to VGA port, mouse and keyboard via USB.
I configured iLO (ver. 1.43)
Now when when I try to access Windows Logon screen monitor says that's no signal but when I'll turn on UID remotely (from iLO web interface) health info appears on the screen. So VGA port is working well I guess.
Why I cannot see Windows right now? I am sure that Windows is running and working fine becuase it controlls Building Integration System.

Re: No signal on VGA port after iLO 5 configuration [HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10]
Hello, it seems to me that the Show Server Health on External Monitor feature is enabled.
You only need to disable it on the "Access Settings" page.
Hope this helps.

Re: No signal on VGA port after iLO 5 configuration [HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10]
It seems to be a known issue, related to the version of Windows Server that is currently installed on your server:
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=a00088741en_us
On any HPE ProLiant server configured with Microsoft Windows Server 2016, if an external video monitor is physically disconnected from the server while the operating system is running, and a "Sign out" or "Switch user" action is performed on the Microsoft Windows account; any Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) Integrated Remote Console (IRC) connection will show a blank black screen.
This behavior is caused by the Microsoft Windows operating system, and not the video driver, iLO or IRC.
In Microsoft Windows Server 2016, upon "Sign out" or "Switch user", the video driver is instructed by the operating system to turn off the display; and after this, the operating system never sends the instruction to turn the display back on.
Any HPE ProLiant server running on Microsoft Windows Server 2016 using an iLO Integrated Remote Console connection.
The issue does not occur on Microsoft Windows Server 2019 and connections established over the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) are not affected.
As a workaround, by pressing "Windows+Ctrl+Shift+B" on the blank screen, the screen does recover and returns the display to normal. For more information refer to the Microsoft support article "Troubleshoot black screen or blank screen errors" found at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14106/windows-10-troubleshoot-black-screen-or-blank-screen-errors

Re: No signal on VGA port after iLO 5 configuration [HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10]
Thanks for your reply!
Unfortunately key combination (Win + Shift + Ctrl + B) didn't resolve my problem.
Do you think that machine reboot will help?
I cannot just do it right now to check it myself - due to server role it has to be planned operation.

Re: No signal on VGA port after iLO 5 configuration [HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10]
It's a good call; also keep in mind that the iLO reset can be performed anytime as the server keeps up and running.
But if you are to do it on a "maintenance window" why don't you also try to update the BIOS and iLO to the latest versions?
BIOS - System ROM Version: 2.62
