NOT RECOGNISED ARRAY CONTROLLER FOR NT TERMINAL SERVER

I am attempting to install NT Terminal Server onto a Proliant ML530 server. NT 4.0 Server OS was installed previously and used the Smart Array 4200 Controller.
However, when I try to install Terminal Server, the setup cannot find any hard drives and will not continue. I have used Smartstart to try and resolve but there is no option to choose terminal server as the OS from within SmartStart, so when the OS is ready to install, I am prompted for NT 4.0 Server. The Terminal Server is not recognised. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around the problem and get the setup of Terminal server to recognise the array controller. I have searched for drivers on the compaq web site but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. I am out in Kazakhstan so Internet access is pretty limited.

Thanks

Sumit

Re: NOT RECOGNISED ARRAY CONTROLLER FOR NT TERMINAL SERVER

You have to do a "custom" install. This means using the NT boot disks (3, created by WINNT /OX command) and booting from them, with the NT TSE CD not inserted until asked for. Then press the F6 key when offered and skip detection on mass storage. Specify an unlisted controller and use our NT 4.0 SSD to load the 4200 Array driver. Then specify a second controller and use NT's standard "IDE/Atapi" driver for the CD...

Re: NOT RECOGNISED ARRAY CONTROLLER FOR NT TERMINAL SERVER

Kazakhstan eh? i've a sight right next door in Kygyzstan/Naryn
anyway, i had the same fault with a sa-431: do this:-

System Erase/Run Smart Start, select Manual Install select windows NT server 4, MS select version if you have it. go throught install untill the very end when it asks you to remove the Smart Start CD, replace it with the NT TS4 CD.
reboot once the NT startsgoing through and comes to the point where you can specify additional hardware, select Other, insert SSD disk#2 and select "Compaq Integrated Smart Array Controllers" for 3200 controller or Select "Compaq Integrated Smart Array\42xx Controllers" for 431/integrated/4200"

this will allow NT TS4 to see the the disk on the end of the RAID card,
now you can install NT TS4, i had this problem....Smart Start V4.90 (Manual install only) as Terminal Server option available now, about time too
now i am hoping you have Smart Start version 4.80 +

Hope this help you out!!!
