Old SCSI drives
We still use several Proliant G1 servers in production. Last month two SCSI drives on these servers broken and was replaced (we received drives from HP partner company)
Drives models:
COMPAQ BD0366349C Firmware Version: 3B06
COMPAQ BD01864552 Firmware Version: 3B05
I have two question about these drives:
1) I cannot find firmware for these drives on
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/index.html site
2) In system Management Homepage in
"Service Hours" field I see "N/A"
So, I am doubt now if these drives are really compatible with G1 servers....
Thanks

Re: Old SCSI drives
The Firmware for these drives used to be in the Option Rompaq's.
Firmware for BD01864552 is 3B08 as per the below link:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/revision/3113.html
As such, the drive is a Wide Ultra drive and should be compatible.Does the Array Diagnostic report shows the Service Minutes.(Assuming it is connected to Smart Array Controller)

Re: Old SCSI drives
The ADU shows all the drives are Old except ID 1 which is currently not reporting the correct Service Minutes and other values as is not stamped for Monitoring. You may want to stamp the Hard Drive using Array Configuration Utility.
Are you not able to see the Service Minutes just for one Drive that is ID 1 or all the drives.

Re: Old SCSI drives
-- Open Array Configuration Utility
-- Select the controller which has the Drive connected
-- Change the Rebuild priority from Default Low to High
-- Save & Exit
-- Again Login Back into ACU
-- Select the controller which has the drive connected
-- Revert Back the Rebuild priority to default Low
-- Save & Exit
Re-generate ADU to see if the error persists

Re: Old SCSI drives
Do you continue to see the error in the report.
What is the version of the Array Configuration utility.
