hello all:
there are two drives in the dl360. shows only one "Logical Drive on #1, RAID 1, 17.0 GB RECOVERING". but when i view the details of the logical drive, under "Assigned Physical Drives", there are two drives; "SCSI port # 2, ID 0, CPMPSAQ 18.2GB Drive OK" and "SCSI port # 2, ID 1, CPMPSAQ 18.2GB Drive OK".
i thought i should see 36GB for the logical drive, am i right? or i have to do something to concatenate them together.
or after all, i have to have smartstart 5.50?
thanks in advance

Solution
hi ipfreak
the only way to get 36 GB is if you configure the RAID 0
"RAID 0 implements a striped disk array, the data is broken down into blocks and each block is written to a separate disk drive"
so 36 GB
but RAID 1 is a mirror "RAID 1 is usually implemented as mirroring; a drive has its data duplicated on two different drives using either a hardware RAID controller or software (generally via the operating system). If either drive fails, the other continues to function as a single drive until the failed drive is replaced."
here there is a RAID calculator
http://www.ibeast.com/content/tools/RaidCalc/RaidCalc.asp
enter number of HDDs, size and RAID level.
and also RAID Levels concepts.
