My proliant 3000 server was just purchased used recently, with no smartstart cd. I was trying to avoid using boot disks, was wondering if there was anyway to do a install using the cdrom, or do i need the smartstart cd?

Hello,
Even though you can do the setup of your server without the Smart Start CD still you will need to download some SoftPaqs depdnding upon the HW youhave. First thing you need to do is download SP19619 and creat 4 diskettes to run System Configuration. Please contact our Tech Support for further assitance. Smart Start CD provides you with three inistallation options: Manual, Assisted and Integration server. In case you decide to order Smart Start Cd the phone no is 1-800-573-1099.
