P212 drive status leds
Hi, this should be a quickie ..
Does the Smart Array P212 support drive led status?
I have an ML310 G5 with a P212 installed and the drives are not showing any activity but the server is working fine.

Re: P212 drive status leds
Hi Ian,
Are they Sata hard drives?
As per quickspecs
SATA Hot Plug 3.5"
Supported Controllers
HP Smart Array E200/128 BBWC Controller
HP Smart Array P400/256MB Controller
HP Smart Array P400/512MB BBWC Controller
HP Smart Array P800/512MB BBWC Controller
NOTE: Hot plug capability and drive LED status support requires installation of one of the controllers or HBAs listed above.
Smart array p212 is also supported but not recommended to connect internal drives.
P212 controller does support hotplug and drive LED. However, need to make sure you have correct cable set.
NOTE: Any Smart Array Controller requires the purchase of the HP SAS Cable ML310
G5 (460310-B21).
If your setup is correct, then trying updating the controller firmware.
thanks
Aftab
