P411 SA on a Proliant ml370/G5
Is there was way to get a P411 Smart Array controller to work on a Proliant ML370/G5? Thanks!

Re: P411 SA on a Proliant ml370/G5
Hi Kevin,
The P411 should work in this server, as per std pratice it pay sot have both the card firmware and the systemboard rom flashed with their latest revisions.
SmartArray cards became far more flexible at working in older & 3rd party systems from the introduction of SAS controllers epsecially from the P400 onwards.
You will be restricted to PCIe 1.0 transfer rates rather than the 2.0 that the P411 supports, but inless you are really going to hammer the storage connected to P411 then the 1GB/s offered by the ML370 PCIe slot should be more than adequate.
Hope this helps.

Re: P411 SA on a Proliant ml370/G5
Hi,
P411 is not in the compatible list for ML370 G5 server.
See the QuickSpecs here for the server.
ML370 G5 is compatible with controllers like P400, E200, P600, P800 etc.
Thank You!
