Parallel Port Does Not Work

We have 2 - ML570 servers and both units do not print thru the on board parallel port - lp0. The BIOS is set to 378, LPT1. Is there anyone out there that has seen a bulletin on this problem?

Re: Parallel Port Does Not Work

Hello,
Please try the following resolution:
Configuring the parallel port within OpenServer requires that you first verify the parallel port base IO address in the BIOS ( either 378 or 3BC) of the ML570. Next, write down the address found in the system BIOS. After exiting the config utility, start OpenServer and run mkdev parallel. If the BIOS reported 378, use 3BC when prompted by the mkdev parallel script. If the BIOS reported 3BC, use 378 at the prompt. After the script has completed, relink the kernel with the following command "sh /etc/conf/cf.d/link_unix -y. Next, shutdown the server with "shutdown -y -g0 -i6" After restarting, OpenServer should recognize the parallel port. You can verify with "hwconfig | grep parallel".
