Physical Drive Threshold Passed

Hi,

I have a question about a ML150 G6. A customer called saying that he could not start his apllications. When I asked him to check the monitor on the server, the screen stays black. I was not able to remote control the server. We had to manually power down the server.
This happened now 3 or 4 times. Also, this happens about 2 months apart. These were the messages that came into my mailbox:

The system has detected the following event:

SNMP Trap: 3037

Date time: 05/11/2011 09:26:39 AM
Computer: REDDEKERDC1
Source: Storage Agents
Type: Warning
Category: (4)

Description:
A 'Physical Drive Threshold Passed' trap signifies that the agent has detected a factory threshold associated with one of the physical drive objects on a drive array has been exceeded.

Details:
Bus # 255
Controller Slot # 2
Model 'HP'
Serial Number 'WCAT1C549041 '
Firmware Revision 'HPG1 '

After this message, another one came (i have 2 sata disk in raid 1):

The system has detected the following event:

SNMP Trap: 3034

Date time: 05/11/2011 09:26:39 AM
Computer: REDDEKERDC1
Source: Storage Agents
Type: Warning
Category: (4)

Description:
A 'Logical Drive Status Change' trap signifies that the agent has detected a change in the status of a drive array logical drive.

Details:
IDA Logical Drive Status 'REBUILDING'
Logical Drive # 1
Controller Slot # 2

And another:

The system has detected the following event:

SNMP Trap: 3038

Date time: 05/11/2011 09:26:39 AM
Computer: REDDEKERDC1
Source: Storage Agents
Type: Informational
Category: (4)

Description:
An 'Accelerator Board Status Change' trap signifies that the agent has detected a change in the status of an array accelerator cache board.

Details:
IDA Accelerator Status 'INVALID'
MEMORY 0
Controller Slot # 2
Model 41
Serial Number ''

When I check the server now, it functions normally. If you ask me, there is something broken, motherboard or disk drive. Or maybe the firmware is out of date. Does somebody has a clue?

Re: Physical Drive Threshold Passed

Hello,
I recomend these steps:
1) check current status, if everything is ok, proceed to:
2) check & update firmware of SmartArray, then drives
3) run disk test utility in ACU
4) watch behavior

generaly - if am afraid once drive shows problem, it is very likely it was SMART warning and there is time to RMA/replace.
