PL3000 with 512MB memory
I Just bought i unit 512mb memory and install into my PL3000 350mhz .When i boot the server a error message ' not supported 512mb memory'any idea .

Please make sure that you are using the right type of memory. Because certain PL3000 take EDO and then the others take SD RAM only.

I bought kingston memory (KTC3617\512)and it's equivelant to my PL3000.

Defiitely it's not going to work. You need COMPAQ proprietory memory. We receive so many issues regarding this and surely 3rd party memory is hit n miss unfortunately. It does not matter if it's equivalent to the specifications of the proprietory memory or not. I know it's bitter but this is the truth.

Could you post that please. There may be alphabetic characters in place of some of the numeric characters.

in which case the correct Kingston part is a KTC9023/512 KIT, which they no longer manufacture.
