Poor Drive Performance

ML370 512MB Smart Array 431 2x9GB RAID1 4x18 RAID5 SCSI-3 10,000 Hot Plug. Recently installed.

Copying folder of 600+ Files 30 MB from Wks to Server takes 15 seconds, copying same folder from Server to Wks takes 2 minutes 20 seconds. All Copying initiated from the Workstation.

Have tweaked NIC & Switch settings from Autosense to 100MB ful duplex, half duplex, etc. and slowdown continues.

I now think the array might be at fault, but there are no error messages anywhere. Any pointers??

If you are still seeing this, why not try monitoring the processess monitor to see what process is consuming resoureces when you start a copy -- if you need to feel free to email support@compaq.com or call 1-800-0k-compaq
