Poor performance on 1GHZ model with 1GB memory.

A client of ours has 3 DL360 machines equally equiped with the next configuration:
Proliand DL360
2 x 18.2, 10K RPM, Ultra 3, HS drives in Raid 1 at integrated raid channel 2,
1 x Exabyte mammoth-2 and Compaq DLT 8000.
1 GB memory,
1 GHz CPU.

Under Novell we see about 46-80% Utilisation under Novell without doing nothing on the server, just plain OS, no clients. Console One is not started.

Loading a NLM takes about 20-40 seconds.

When we look at resources the Raid controller looks like it is non-busmastering and when loading data takes Utilisation very high, about 83-90%.

The tape-streamers cannot get a performance better then about 900 KB/sec. This last issue is reported under Netware 5.1 and NT 4.0.

What can be the solution and how can we get the SCSI and Raid into Busmastering mode?

Re: Poor performance on 1GHZ model with 1GB memory.

Remove the MPK (Multi processor Kernel) driver NLM out of statup.ncf.
