Power Supply problem on ML350 G6
Hi Guys,
Could anyone give an advice of a reason, why my home server HP ML 350 G6 works without any issues with power supply HSTNS-PL18 (506821-001/511778-001) 750W Gold aka 512327-B21, but then I insert another one - HSTNS-PL11 (490594-001/498152-001) 1200W Silver aka 500172-B21 in, I receive the POST-error "Unsupported Power Supply Detected in Bay "X" System halted", although the power suppy is in the list of supported accessories?
P.S. The latest firmware of all components is installed.

Re: Power Supply problem on ML350 G6
Hallo Cali,
Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, I know it and the both of them are the same. I bought 1200W (every time of 2 pieces) by different sellers, but the result is as before. They are working, but server gives the error-message. I've checked everyone of them in non-redundant mode (1 bay is busy, 2 is emty) - the same error. That's the problem...

Understand, that's strange.
Hopefully, someone can help you.

Re: Power Supply problem on ML350 G6
Hello,
In addition to the above, the server's quickspecs, on page 20 indicates that the option part of the "HP 1200W Common Slot Silver Hot Plug Power Supply Kit" is 500172-B21.
Please see if this is of any help.
Regards,

Re: Power Supply problem on ML350 G6
It's been already written (see my first post).:) However, I purchased another two and they started to be working. It seems like previous 4 were defective becaus of something... And the last question: "Is it normal, that fans of the PSUs are continiously spinning even after the server is switched off?"
