Predictive Failure Indicators...

Have 4 Not Ready Errors under Failure Indicators, on Insight Manger for 1 146gb utra320 disk drive in a raid 5 configuration and 0 Failure Indicators on another drive but have 5 Hard read errors and 4 recov read errors on statistics....we are going to power this server off and move it are these an indicator that the server will have problems coming back up...

hi,

if its possible backup your data,

and check the disks with a offline diagnostic from smartart CD. ( proliant 300/500/700 series )

Thanks for the reply, forgot to say these are in a proliant Dl 380 g4, does that make a differnce on what the errors show?

As long as you don't see any orange/red light I think you should be ok.
Are your hd firmware levels up to date?
Predictive failure tresholds can be changed with the release of newer firmwares.
