Problem Installing Win Server 2019 on DL380 G7

Hi, i'm attempting to install a Server 2019 on a DL380 G7 with smart array P410i.

I'm following this tutorial : https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/Installation-of-Windows-Server-2019-on-an-HP-Proliant-DL380/td-p/8294230

So i could upgrade the bios to the latest version (wich was not easy to do !) with https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?softwareId=MTX_eeaa965a7d8a4990bcc245dfc3

i installed the P410i firmware from a win2008 previously installed (https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swItemId=MTX_993349aa061b4897b5ae4d212e )

But whatever i tried, i got stuck with this message while in the windows installer : Windows can't be installed on this drive. The details are : This computer's hardware may not not support booting to this disk. Ensure tha disk's controller is enable in the computer's BIOS menu.

I check the bios settings but i can't find any setting related. Also, i check the array utility, i tried to enable and install, disable the Lun0 to boot from and install. Tried to delete and re-create the Raid (i tried on raid5 and raid10) after that, and again enable lun0 boot before installing, and again disable lun0 boot and tried to install, ..

I also tried to scan the p410i drivers on a usb key in the windows installer : https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?softwareId=MTX_88fc4cead4ee433cb69e5e2afb

Now, the bios version is :  P67 05/21/2018  and the smart array version is 6.64, Rom 8.40.41

I also tried with different windows server iso (2016, 2022, and i can't boot with 2012 usb key..) or bootable media key settings in rufus (MBR, fixes for old bios)

I'm a missing something ? Anyone would had an idea ?

Thanks a lot

Re: Query: Installing Win Server 2019 DL380 G7

1 :

Changed de C-State mode in the alimentation bios settings

(Bios -> Power Management Options, Advanced Power Management Options, Minimum Processor Idle Power State. )

2 :

can't download the P410i drivers you give me, using firefox, Chrome or Fillezilla.

I see no files in the /pub/softlib2/software1/pubsw-linux/p2052129894/v68541 ftp folder using Fillezilla

Also, i don't know how to use this file

Re: Query: Installing Win Server 2019 DL380 G7

Ok, i find a solution : connect a M2 NVME PCIE adapter while installing windows.

The NVME disk is not even recognize but Windows can be installed on the logical drive of the Smart Arraw P410i.

Weird, but it work. And as we say : if it works, it ain't stupid.

Will see if I can boot on windows after installed it and M2 adaptator deconnected

I just had the opportunity to try your solution, inserting a pcie to nvme adapter with a nvme disk, and indeed Windows allowed me to install on the P410i! Thank you.
